About
JENNIFER CAUFFMAN OF GLORY FIBERS
Art has been a big influence on Jennifer Cauffman’s heritage and life. She was born in New York where she received many opportunities to study in museums, such as the Hudson River Museum among others. She studied at SUNY at Farmingdale, Covenant College in Georgia, California College of the Arts for fibers and painting. She received various awards and showings at student shows, Jewish Community settings and others in the New York City area. She has been featured in Soho, Cosmopolitan Magazine, LDB magazine and silk painting books.
In 1988, she formed Glory Fibers as an outlet for her design and painting abilities on silk. She has designed for many private clients, shown in 40 stores and displayed in 300 art and trade shows. Jennifer’s artistry brings out the diverse nature of the silk, its luxury and function with beauty and comfort. She applies dyes and iridescent paints to magically make the silk come alive. She uses a gold resist to highlight her designs and steam sets the creations to ensure its wash ability to retain its natural crispness.
Jennifer started by painting on her weavings and had so much fun with colors and could portray the glory of the various creations and objects around her that she expanded in other areas. She has fun creating pillows, various styles of clothing to lamps with LED lights to enhance her designs. Her purses reflect the same love and care. Her paintings take on the same lively style with much study to interpret the final product whether it is a wall piece or folding screen.
She just received the business award for woman of the year in 2008 in her field of artistry from the NAPEW, which Oprah is part of also. Jennifer has created a newer venue of wall particans lit up with LED lights in ocean scenes. Also, she paints birds on silk with feather enhancements. Jennifer is always on the cutting edge and has fresh ideas on her palette.
Jennifer hopes you enjoy her creations and can accommodate your needs and create a special look for you.
